The original foundation
Visit the site of the origin of Modern Spiritualism. The cottage was built in 1814 and moved to Lily Dale, NY, in 1916. What remains in Hydesville is the original foundation that is protected by a locked enclosure with 11 windows for viewing access. The property is cared for by our caretaker and historian, Tracy Murphy. Appointments are encouraged to learn more about the history, lectures, or to access the enclosure.
